someone needs to make a comparison chart. I honestly suggest you go with the screen reader you're more familiar with. I know that if it were me, I'd go with Jaws since I've been using it for five plus years.

yeah, but I've heard that Window-Eyes tends to be more stable. Is't true?

It's true; Window Eyes is less expensive than JAWS. Which do you know best? Will you be writing things like Java apps? Regarding Window Eyes' claim of "stability", what do they mean? I've been using JAWS for ages; wouldn't say it's any less "stable" than any other Windows application or service.

Cheers,

Dave

I'm a JAWS user. I just like it, and it's what I've been using forever.

Well, by "stability" they mean that it doesn't freeze up as much. Right now at school, I'm using Window-Eyes, but I've also used JAWS, so I've got exposure to both. I'm planning to double major in music and psychology, or nutrition.
Thanks!

Their is a third option that is really good. Hal from Dolphin is a very groovy screen reader and you can get it on a Pen drive.

I'd personally go with whatever screen reader you either A. are more familiar with, or B. like more. Also I do believe that jaws now has that thumb drive option as well as that screen reader someone else mentioned.
HTH.

Gall, what a toss up. I prefer window-eyes, but like many here, it's is what you are use to. I started out on window-eyes about 5 years ago, so I'm quite use to it. I currently using both, and they both have their own pluses and minuses. BTW, what is the price of JFW these days? I thought the prices were beginning to even out. Good luck! So far, what are you more comfortable with? Down load the demos and experiment.
